Fáilte a Rún
05:15
|
|||
Curfa:
Fáilte, fáilte, fáilte a rún
Fáilte go sonas agus fáilte go grá buan
Fáilte go beatha nua, croíúil liom
Is go deimhin 's tú mo mhúirnín, a ghrá
(Translation:
Welcome, welcome, welcome, Love
Welcome to happiness and welcome to lasting love
Welcome to a warm, new life me
And of course you are always my darling, Love)
I remember when you left from yonder hill;
To seek your fortune was your will,
But you're back, a promise to fulfill
Is go deimhin 's tú mo mhúirnín, a ghrá
You sold your good shirt, you sold your meal
You sold your only sword of steel
To return to your love and your home ideal
Is go deimhin 's tú mo mhúirnín, a ghrá
We'll paint our home, we'll paint it red
And it's from our hearth our clan will be fed
Until all our sorrows have gone and fled
Is go deimhin 's tú mo mhúirnín, a ghrá
I wished, I wished, I wished not in vain
I wished I had you here again
And now you're here and here you will remain
Is go deimhin 's tú mo mhúirnín, a ghrá
And now our love has every chance
To try our fortunes to advance
As it e'er comes back, in an e'er wid'ning dance
Is go deimhin 's tú mo mhúirnín, a ghrá

If Only I'd Known
04:56
|
|||
When I was your child, free-spirited and wild,
Your temper came through loud and clear.
As the violence rose higher, consuming like fire,
Soon our whole house lived in fear.
Hot sparks lived in words we commonly heard:
“You can’t do anything right.”
As all worthless things go, I was thrown out also
To fend for myself in the night.
If only you’d known I’m an angel you would never have treated me so;
If only you’d known I’m an angel you wouldn’t have let me go.
First love of my heart gave me such a start
I never thought I’d find it there
Quick, light hazel eyes grabbed me by surprise
and soft skin where your face met your hair.
It forced me to grow, this loving you so
Through difficult teenage years,
But once you could tell, friendship turned to hell
and frequently left me in tears.
If only you’d known I’m a unicorn you would never have treated me so;
If only you’d known I’m a unicorn you wouldn’t have let me go.
All I had was you to help me get through
The scariest part of my life.
No home, no family, friends were all to me
as I dealt with the hardship and strife.
One day your old friends took me out with them
For once I had a little fun.
‘Next day I came back to a brand new attack:
Your days with me were all done.
If only you’d known I’m a gelfling you would never have treated me so;
If only you’d known I’m a gelfling you wouldn’t have let me go.
If only you’d known I’m an angel you would never have treated me so;
If only you’d known I’m a unicorn you wouldn’t have let me go.
If only you’d known I’m a gelfling you would never have treated me so;
If only I’d known ...

Amhrán Chuig an Stoirm

|
|||
A leanbh, cá bhfuil tú?
A leanbh, cá ndeachaigh tú?
A bhfuil tú le na daoine sí?
A bhfuil tú le na daoine maithe?
Bhí tú beagneach ‘am; chonaic mé thú.
Tar ar ais chugam, tá mé uaigneach.
Ar chaill mé thú?
Translation:
Song to the Storm
Child, where are you?
Child, where have you gone?
Are you with the fairies?
Are you with the Good People?
I almost had you; I saw you.
Come back to me, I am lonely.
Have I lost you?

A Promise Unbroken
05:27
|
|||
When you're far from home
And you're all alone
And too tired to roam
You can still find me
When the wind blows strong
And the hours burn long
You'll still hear my song
You can still find me
I am the strength no one can take
I am the faith nothing can shake
When a grief like lead
Weighs down your head
You feel hope is dead
You can still find me
When your friends have gone
And you cry 'till dawn
You must still push on
You can still find me
I'm wisdom in the trees and the earth
That you have felt calling since birth
I am in you, your dreams, and your soul
I bring you love, I keep you whole
When you need to sleep
But your guard must keep
When you're in too deep
You can still find me
When you fly away
From where the unhealed prey
And have no place to stay
You can still find me
I am the strength no one can take
I am the faith nothing can shake
I'm your desire to become free
I'll make you all you long to be
When the ones you thought
Would have helped a lot
Their own comfort sought
You can still find me
When you've just been hurt
But must stay alert
I am not inert
You can still find me
I am the strength no one can take
I am the faith nothing can shake
I'm your desire to become free
I'll make you all you long to be
I'm wisdom in the trees and the earth
That you have felt calling since birth
I am in you, your dreams, and your soul
I bring you love, I keep you whole
When the moon shines bright
Where you sleep at night
And your dreams take flight
You can still find me
I am the strength no one can take
I am the faith nothing can shake
I'm your desire to become free
I'll make you all you long to be
I'm wisdom in the trees and the earth
That you have felt calling since birth
I am in you, your dreams, and your soul
I bring you love, I keep you whole

Symbols
03:37
|
|||
Alone at night she looks up to the moon
And as she does she starts to feel the power
From oceans to a single tiny rune
It flows through everything at every hour
A priestess of her own she is aware
Of power many would choose to ignore
Because she has enough courage to dare
To learn the ancient secrets of old lore
Looking down again she starts to draw
She feels the power flowing from her pen
Each sacred image sets her world in awe
Of power it can finally know again
She found her source of power in the wild
The only place it can be, for a child

Through Misty Air
07:39
|
|||
It happened on a Samhain night
A silver moon rose to her height
As I stayed up alone to write
Of love made clear, and love’s delight
As I was working on a song
I heard a voice both clear and strong
Reminding me of how I long
For love’s delight; a true heartsong
So I looked up and in the place
Where the mirror had shown my face
A fairy woman sang with grace
A true heartsong now taking place
She sang most beautiful and true
And I knew nothing I could do
Could stop this if I’d wanted to
From taking place, so follow through
I took my harp from where she lay
For muse’s guidance I did pray
That she may show me the right way
To follow through, and grace repay
To court the lady now I played
And from her song I never strayed
All of my love and skill displayed
Her grace repaid; a heartsong made
The warm brass strings of my harp rang
To complement the song she sang
Love piercing me like hunger’s pang
This heartsong made, and so we sang
Soon then she turned as if to go
I knew I had to stop her so
I tried using all that I know
And so I sang that she’d not go
My own voice rose as if in prayer
Ringing throughout this strange night’s air
And it did hold the lady fair
She did not go, it held her there
I sang to her of dreams and love
Of worlds below and worlds above
All worlds and things worth singing of
It held her there, my fairy love
And then her milk-white hand reached through
The mirror’s surface and I knew
Just what she wanted me to do
My fairy love, how my heart flew
Quickly I now had to decide
Whether her calling to abide
And join her on the other side
How my heart flew, how my heart cried
I longed to hold her but held back
For I knew those who took that track
Were never able to come back
How my heart cried, but still held back
To think that once I would have leapt
At chances like this, to be kept
In that strange world, where once I’d crept
But now held back, I can’t accept
But I thought of a better way
My plan was to coax her to stay
Even if only for one day
I can’t accept the other way
My song rose up more earnest then
But she had turned away again
I thought I must have lost her when
The other way she turned again
And then we sang in harmony
While I played more ecstatically
And richly she rewarded me
She turned again and stepped toward me
The mirror rippled round her hair
As she came through with little care
I longed to move; I didn’t dare
She stepped towards me through misty air
What happened next I’ll not tell here
For this tale is too long I fear
But I still hold her very dear
Through misty air was love made clear

Longing
03:51
|
|||
chorus:
I long for a lover whose heart is like the sea
One who knows our source and can journey there with me
Whose gentle touch soothes deep through my skin
And whose beauty shines from a treasure deep within
My heart has been hurt and I have been scared
I have fled my heart and have taken to the air
I flown so high that no one could reach
But to be drawn back is the thing I now beseech
My heart is a place I myself have just now known
It's a vibrant place where all life is healthily grown
And hidden deep where there can be no hate
Ancient temples full of treasure lie in wait
I've searched o'er the mountains and over the seas
But the love I seek so far has eluded me
So now I shine my own inner light
That she may find me as I search for her by night

Chorus:
I give you my hand, my love
I give you my hand
I was a fool to have passed you by
I give you my hand
I was afraid then, but now
I give you my hand
Others have hurt and left me
But I know you will be faithful to me
Fear and pain have ruled me before
But now I choose to live by trust and love
