about

An album I had recorded before this one was not released when expected, and for a time it looked like it may never be released at all. For a musician, one's songs and albums can feel like one's children. I wrote this song to the album I thought was lost.

[Happily that album, "Wake the Dragon" by the duo Mór Gwyddelig, was eventually released after all, in 2004]

lyrics

A leanbh, cá bhfuil tú?
A leanbh, cá ndeachaigh tú?
A bhfuil tú le na daoine sí?
A bhfuil tú le na daoine maithe?
Bhí tú beagneach ‘am; chonaic mé thú.
Tar ar ais chugam, tá mé uaigneach.
Ar chaill mé thú?

Translation:
Song to the Storm

Child, where are you?
Child, where have you gone?
Are you with the fairies?
Are you with the Good People?
I almost had you; I saw you.
Come back to me, I am lonely.
Have I lost you?

about

Caera Seattle, Washington

From haunting Celtic lullabies, through laments of intense grief and pain, to songs of healing and hope, Caera’s music always contains an authenticity that can be hard to find in today’s music, or even in today’s world in general. Powerful soprano vocals blend with the bell-like tones of her brass-strung Gaelic harp to create music that carries people through life, dreaming or fully awake. ... more
