about

This is the first song I wrote in Irish Gaelic. It came to me by the beach on the west coast of Ireland, in a little village called Malin Beg in Co. Donegal.

lyrics

Curfa:
Tugaim dhuit mo lámh, a rún
Tugaim dhuit mo lámh

Bhí me i m’ óinseach chun tú a thrasnú
Tugaim dhuit mo lámh
Bhí eagla orm ansin, ach anois
Tugaim dhuit mo lámh

Ghortaigh ‘s d’fhag daoine eile mé
Tugaim dhuit mo lámh
Ach tá a fhios agam 'mbeidh tú dílis dom
Tugaim dhuit mo lámh

Riall eagla ‘gus pian tharam cheanna
Tugaim dhuit mo lámh
‘nois tosaím a bheith beo le muinín ‘is grá
Tugaim dhuit mo lámh

Translation:
Chorus:
I give you my hand, my love
I give you my hand

I was a fool to have passed you by
I give you my hand
I was afraid then, but now
I give you my hand

Others have hurt and left me
But I know you will be faithful to me

Fear and pain have ruled me before
But now I choose to live by trust and love

about

Caera Seattle, Washington

From haunting Celtic lullabies, through laments of intense grief and pain, to songs of healing and hope, Caera’s music always contains an authenticity that can be hard to find in today’s music, or even in today’s world in general. Powerful soprano vocals blend with the bell-like tones of her brass-strung Gaelic harp to create music that carries people through life, dreaming or fully awake. ... more
